Y-DNA Branch FGC12384/FGC12385 Intro

This Y-DNA branch was first identified in June 2016, when a new Full Genome Corporation (FGC) Y Elite 2.1 test results were analyzed.  The results were for a Mr. Alex Guess, who happened to be my father's closest Short Tandem Repeat (STR) test match.  Several single-nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) mutations, were identified that were shared with my father's FTDNA BigY test results.  Before these results, my father was first man identified to have these SNP mutations.  A month later my father's own FGC Y Elite 2.1 results were analyzed by Alex Williamson at www.ytree.net resulting in over 40 shared SNPs between Mr. Guess and my father.

Additional analysis was performed by yfull.com.  Yfull's analysis includes an estimated date of 1000 AD of when the most recent common ancestor (TMRCA) of Mr. Guess and my father lived.

This branch has two different names depending on the y-dna tree source.

On yfull.com's YTree it's called R-FGC12384.

On Alex Williamson's Bigtree and at FTDNA's Y-DNA haplotree it called R-FGC12385
